History: In 1979 Stephen Thomas began his career in the copier business in Lake Charles, La. with Louisiana Office Systems. In 1989, Stephen founded the company that today is known as Techtronics Document Solutions, Inc. Steve has built Techtronics from the “Service Department” up, servicing: Minolta, Mita, Sharp, Gestetner, Toshiba, Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, Apeco, Lanier, ABdick, Yorktown Genie, and many other odd named copiers. Since 1989 Techtronics has acquired several other companies in the area that had made an impact on the community but lacked the drive and commitment to follow through, such as: National Copier Service, H & H Typewriter, Allied Office Systems, Copy Man & Copiers Etc., and Louisiana Office Systems. Techtronics centrally located at 3218 Common Street.
Authorized Dealer: Toshiba America aligned themselves with Techtronics in 1991. Toshiba requires that their dealers are factory trained on each model with continuing education programs, are financially sound, and have a very good standing locally with their area community. Toshiba is a Global Fortune 500 company with over 125 years of growth. They continue to invest over three billion dollars each year for research and development. In 1999 they co developed the world’s first full 128-bit CPU. In 2000 Toshiba introduced the FC22 full color copier, which has 169 patents pending. In July of 2000, Fortune magazine rated Toshiba the 5th largest company in sales placement for electronics equipment. Also in the list of the World’s Largest Corporations, Toshiba has moved up from 48th to 38th in ranking. In 2000 Toshiba won the highest overall rating in the Office Product Analyst Annual Copier Reliability Survey or the third year in a row.
